As if by magic, these natural structures appear on beaches after storms. Is there an explanation for these mysterious rock patterns?

These natural oddities are called fulgurites. You’ll find their origin “shocking” to say the least.

Fulgurites are caused by lightning striking the sand during a storm. It’s no surprise that the average fulgurite has the same twists and turns as a bolt of lightning.
