The 139-year-old Gray Street Mosque in Durban, South Africa, has been engulfed in flames, according to the World News Agency. It is said to be the largest mosque in the southern hemisphere. The fire also affected three other buildings adjacent to the mosque.
According to the spokesman of the emergency management agency, the fire brigade personnel managed to control the fire after two hours of continuous efforts but the cause of the fire could not be ascertained. No casualties were reported in the incident.
