Fernanda Colombo Uliana is a Brazilian referee, sports journalist, presenter, and commentator. She writes for Brazilian publication Metropoles.
Colombo earned her bachelor’s degree in physical education. She worked as a model before turning to a referee. She earned her breakthrough as a referee during the 2014 Copa do Brasil as a groundbreaking female officiant. She served as an assistant referee at the 2014 FIFA World Cup and also officiated at the 2018 World Cup in Russia as an official FIFA judge. Unfortunately, after the clip went viral, Colombo received an email about an “immoral sexual proposal.” In the email, she was offered work “meeting clients” for at least “7 thousand” per encounter.
Colombo posted a screenshot of the indecent proposal on her Instagram account and wrote that it had left her feeling like “trash”. “I want to tell the world that I just want to do what I love, which means working with football and journalism. Please respect that”, she wrote.
